Content Preferences

Updated this week

🎉 Hey Jodeler!

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback about the content you see in your feed. After rolling out features such as the “Heated Intervention” and “OJ Controls”, we’re excited to share that you are now able to set Content Preferences for your feed, designed to give you more control over your Jodel experience.

What’s new?

With version 7.176 on iOS and 8.94.1 on Android, you have:

✅ Content Preferences toggle

The “Content Preferences” section in your location dropdown lets you enable or disable the limiting of sensitive content

✅ Sensitive content is hidden by default

Posts that may not be suitable for everyone are limited on the feed, so you can enjoy engaging on Jodel without surprises. If you decide to view sensitive posts while using Jodel, they’ll be visible only for your current session. When the app closes, content preferences is reset to limit sensitive content the next time you open the app.

✅ Clear labels for flagged content

If something is flagged as sensitive, it’s clearly marked — giving you full control over what you want to see.

✅ Warnings before viewing sensitive posts

We’ll give you a friendly heads-up: this content may include sensitive content. You can choose to continue, or stick to your default feed.

✅ Better handling of mistakenly flagged content

We’re aware that some posts might have been wrongly marked. In this update, we’ve improved the system to ensure your positive and helpful content stays visible.

Quick Tips

  • Make sure your app is updated to the latest version!

  • Set your content preferences if you want to explore everything, including potentially sensitive posts.

  • Continue reporting content; This helps us make our systems better!

With this update, you can enjoy more good vibes and more positive feed, while still having the freedom to explore the content you want 🌟

⚡Heads up: You will need to update your Jodel app to the latest version to enjoy all these changes!
