When you come across an imminent danger in Jodel (threat to others, suicidal declarations/suggestions) you can flag these Posts with the Flagreason "emergency".
The Post will then be forwarded to our Support, and we will send the Person a Sticky with the Link to the crisis hotline as soon as possible.
Since our support is not working 24/7, after our working hours (18:00pm - 09:00am german time) you will receive a different pop-up than during the day.
In that pop-up we will ask you to contact our support if you think the police should be informed about the Post/User:
"You are reporting this Jodel outside our service hours.
⏰ You think the Jodeler is in a life-threatening situation? Please copy the Post ID and write a short message to our support for further instructions! 🧡"
As soon as you write our support a message, you will receive an automatic answer with instructions on how to contact your local police. For some countries, we can already give you a certain e-mail address to contact the police directly, in some countries you have to use the website of your local police station.
As soon as the police contact us, we will send the police all the user data we have, to help them find the person in need. Our Support Team might not be working 24/7, but we do have an emergency team that is available 24/7 for the police to ask for user data.
What kind of information need the police?
In case that you think the Post/Person should be reported to the police please send the police the following information:
How can the police contact Jodel: our emergency contact for the police is email@example.com
Post details: What was the post about?
Location/Time: Where is the Jodeler located? At what time did he send the Post?
Ticket Number: Send the police your Ticket Nr. as a reference for us. When we know the Ticket Nr it is much easier to find the User the Police is asking for.
