We are very happy that you care about Jodel’s communities and want to help us keep Jodel a positive and safe space for everyone. We take abuse very seriously and are thankful for having them reported to us.
Guidelines’ abuse, threats, incitements to break the law and any other illegal activities are altogether condemned on Jodel. We maintain the health of our communities through our reliance on algorithms and reports from our trusted users. As a jodeler you can contribute to the health of your community in two manners:
Flagging content: It is the fastest way to remove abusive content by immediately forwarding it to our moderators. Click on the three dots (...) below a Jodel, then on “Report abuse” and then choose the correct flagging reason. Flagged content is then reviewed by our moderators who decide whether it is appropriate or not, ie either block it or allow it back into the feed. Successive content blocks lead to account bans. Here you can learn more about our moderation system: httphttps://jodel.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001048074-Our-moderation-system-s://jodel.com/moderation/
Please note that users are allowed to challenge these decisions by contacting us directly if they feel they have been unjustly banned.
Contacting Jodel’s support: It is advisable to contact us directly in cases of aggravated abuse/emergencies so we can act without delay! You can reach us directly from the app under the "Contact us" form in the settings. Choose “Issue Type: Emergency -> Threat or Harassment”, fill out all the data and add “Share a Jodel” link from the app. This will help our admins find the content and act accordingly.
In extreme cases where direct harm is anticipated, we will take the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our users and communities. You can find more information about this in our Transparency Report (in German for now):
