Feedback on moderation decisions
If all moderators vote unanimously to block or allow a post, we show this post to all other moderators. When you make a decision on such a post, you see whether your decision was aligned with the other moderators. If you decide with the majority, you will gain karma and the knowledge that you are an awesome moderator! If you decide against the majority, you will be informed and your rank will go down in our moderation system.
If you believe the unanimous decision was wrong, you can challenge the decision. Before doing so, make sure you review our guidelines. All challenged decisions will be reviewed and, if need be, corrected. This helps us to keep our moderation system and our moderators on check, while making sure there are no mistakes.
Unfortunately, we currently cannot give feedback on your challenges.
My performance
As a moderator, your personal performance is constantly being calculated. We compare you to all other moderators active this day and rank you among them.
You climb up the ranks based on the accumulation of certain metrics:
- The quality of your decisions
The more right decisions you take, the better you will score in the ranking!
- The frequency of your moderation
The more you help weeding out abusive and negative content, the better we rank you! If you check in on a daily basis your streak will be counted as an extra bonus.
- Our security algorithms
They help us evaluate moderators and their decisions.
Even though quality for us is more important than quantity, to get to the top of the moderation ranks you will need to master both :)
What is a “right” decision?
In our moderation system posts get decided by a number of trusted and dedicated moderators following our guidelines and with the approval of our algorithms. If your decision matches that of other moderators, we count it as a “right” decision.
